Dr Jie (Tina) Yu is a clinical cardiologist and cardiovascular researcher. She has broad expertise in general cardiology, with specialty interests in heart failure, hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, and cardiac imaging. Dr Yu is committed to providing evidence-based care with clear communication and an individualised approach to each patient’s care. She can consult in English and Mandarin.

Dr Yu completed her medical degree and PhD at Peking University in China, where she practised as a consultant cardiologist and Associate Professor before relocating to Australia to pursue postdoctoral clinical research at the George Institute for Global Health in Sydney. She subsequently completed Australian cardiology training at Royal North Shore Hospital, followed by advanced fellowship training in heart failure, cardio-oncology, and cardiac imaging at John Hunter Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is accredited as a Visiting Medical Officer at Mayo Private Hospital and Forster Private Hospital. She is also a member of the International Cardio-Oncology Society.

Dr Yu has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author articles in JAMA and co-authored publications in NEJM and Circulation. She previously served as Co-Deputy Director of the Heart and Stroke Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and is currently a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. She is also actively involved in medical education and research supervision.
